Frank Frederick White Jr.

Age 77, passed away August 20,
2015 at his home after a recent struggle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bransford White; two
sons, Alan (Tricia) Knoxville, TN, Andrew (Amanda) Nashville, TN,
and daughter, Leigh Ann, Nashville, TN, and grandchildren Hayden,
Morgan, and Annie Noelle and brother-in-law Charles Butler
(Pauletta) Edmond, OK. He will also be greatly missed by several
nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends all of whom he loved
dearly.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Maxine Wachstein and Frank F.
White, Sr., his son Frank F. (Ricky) White, III, and his sister Ann
Davis.
Born in Whiteville, TN on January 3, 1938, Frank's family moved to
Nashville during his father's service in World War II. Along with
his older sister Ann, Frank attended the county school system and
graduated from Madison High School in 1956. In his junior year he
joined the United States Navy where he proudly served two years
active duty and six years as a reservist. Frank attended Middle
Tennessee State University and the Wharton School of Business.
He began a very rewarding career in insurance with Interstate Life &
Accident Insurance Company where he sold and collected premiums door
to door on a weekly basis. Using his wit and aptitude he learned the
business from the bottom up. In 1965, he joined Blair, Folin, Allen,
& Walker which later became Corroon & Black Corporation. Corroon &
Black ultimately merged with Willis Faber & Dumas which is known
today as Willis, the third largest publicly held insurance brokerage
company in the world. Frank served Willis and its predecessor firms
for 33 years retiring as Chairman of Willis North America.
In 2002, Frank started his own insurance brokerage firm, Commercial
Insurance Associates (CIA) where he continued to use his talents on
a daily basis. His successful career spanned 57 years in which he
developed countless lifelong friendships and was respected for his
great character, intelligence, cool wit and commitment to his fellow
associates.
Frank lived a full and wonderful life and was an inspiration to all.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and cherished
friend. He touched the hearts of many and was a true blessing to all
who knew him. An avid golfer, he loved the time he spent on the
course with his friends and was a founding partner of Old Natchez
Country Club. Frank believed strongly in supporting his community
and was passionate in his support of the United Way and provided
longstanding support of the Boy Scouts of America who honored Frank
with The Silver Beaver Award in 1994 for his distinguished service
to youth.
To celebrate his life, the family will receive friends at Hermitage
Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, August 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. and
Wednesday August 26 at 11 a.m. followed by Celebration of Life at 12
p.m.
